Central de Cooperativas de Honduras (LA CENTRAL) was established in 1998, and now has 10,000 members. The Fair Trade price has enabled La Central to establish various social and productive programs. La Central encourages organic production by supporting certification and crop diversification projects. Micro-credit and savings programs provide members with better economic security. La Central has also invested in equipment and infra-structure to improve coffee quality.
LA CENTRAL coffee is shade grown at 2900 to 5250 feet. Coffee is medium-bodied with a fruity aroma.
