This beautiful Moses sculpture was hand-carved from Olive Wood in the West Bank of Bethlehem by members of the Ibrahim Odeh Family. It depicts the prophet Moses holding the Serpent Staff and Ten Commandments. They carry on a 1000 year old tradition of artistry dating back to the 11th century. The olive tree and its fruit is a staple of the Mediterranean diet and represents the main natural resource providing employment while carrying on a tradition dating back to the Roman Empire. The Odeh’s offer a great variety of traditional designs as well as modern adaptations as well as ceramic dishes.
